Flashing an ESP32 board
Each ESP32 download is a combined flash image that includes the bootloader, partition table and application.
Write it to address 0x0 with esptool:
CardPuter Adv/Mesh
esptool --chip esp32s3 --port /dev/ttyACM0 --before usb-reset --after watchdog-reset write-flash 0x0 cardputer-mesh-0.1.54.bin
T-Deck
esptool --chip esp32s3 --port /dev/ttyACM0 --before usb-reset --after watchdog-reset write-flash 0x0 t-deck-0.1.54.bin
These commands use firmware version 0.1.54 and serial port /dev/ttyACM0; substitute the image
filename and serial port for your setup.
Flashing an nRF52 board
Each nRF52 download is a Nordic Secure DFU package in ZIP format.
Place the board in DFU mode by double-pressing RESET or running dfu in the console, then transfer
the package with Nordic's nrfutil:
nrfutil nrf5sdk-tools dfu usb-serial -pkg wio-tracker-l1-eink-0.1.54.zip -p /dev/ttyACM0
This example uses Wio Tracker L1 firmware version 0.1.54 and serial port /dev/ttyACM0.
Replacing the nRF52 bootloader
Running mesh-rs on an nRF52 board requires replacing the stock bootloader with the unified Nordic Secure DFU
bootloader.
Download the package matching the board's current bootloader, save it as bootloader_replace.zip
(or substitute the filename below), and flash it with adafruit-nrfutil:
adafruit-nrfutil --verbose dfu serial -pkg bootloader_replace.zip -p /dev/ttyACM0 -b 115200 -sb

— to update or reflash an existing Nordic Secure DFU bootloader.
Substitute the serial port for your board in place of /dev/ttyACM0.
Restoring the stock bootloader
The following signed DFU packages replace the mesh-rs bootloader with the board's original Adafruit bootloader.
Once the original bootloader is restored, stock firmware can be installed with adafruit-nrfutil or
a web flasher.
